Chuck Ammerman

Chuck "Shaggy" Ammerman

Living in Holt, Michigan, with his wife, Diana, Chuck Ammerman was born on December, 12th, 1968. Also sharing the same household is one of Chuck's crewmembers, Tony. He gets to live there because he is Chuck and Diana's son.

To support his family and to help support his racing, Chuck works for one of his sponsors, Merritt Press. You'll find "Shaggy" driving the #61 Chevy Monte Carlo in the Street Stock Division at Spartan Speedway and Springport Motor Speedway as he proudly displays a depiction of the American Flag on the hood for our men & women overseas.

"I've been around the track since the 70's with my Dad and Uncle who owns and works with Lansing/Mason Ambulance. I always wanted to race myself, but never had the money to do so. 3 years ago I started helping my cousin Mike "The Hammer" Ammerman with his race car while trying to learn the secrets and finer points of racing."
"Once I got the 'racing bug', I could no longer watch and bought my own car at the end of 2005.

Chuck usually pits next to his cousin, Mike "The Hammer" Ammerman "I don't yet have many accomplishments as I'm trying to learn how to drive the car and 'keep from hitting people'!"
"I'm shooting for a top-ten finish in points this year and at least 1 checkered flag."

Chuck's decklid explains it all "I was inspired even more with the passing of my Mom a little over a year ago. She was very young and it showed me that you never know when it's your time to go."
"So, make the most of the time you have...."
