Tina and Keith Holden raced each other all season long and were locked in a very tight points battle for third and fourth in the 2006 Championship as the season wound down.
2005 was Tina's first year in racing and she won the Spartan Speedway Hard Luck Award and finished 10th in points. She was also the 2005 Springport Motor Speedway Rookie of the Year, Sportsman of the Year, and 4th in points. In a heat race on June 23, 2006, she picked up her first checkered flag. She captured a second one on June 25th and a third on August 4th. She is very proud of an article published about herself in the Lansing State Journal on August 28, 2006. |

"After destroying my Ford in the Pony Stock Figure 8 race in May, I thought I was done racing this year. The idea of me not racing did not set well with my mom. She is my biggest fan and supporter. So... out came the checkbook for the Chevy. Thanks MOM!!"
"Racers in my family include my Uncle "Crazy Clay" Hayward, Great Grandpa Joe Vroman Sr., Grandpa Joe Vroman Jr., and Aunt Pat (Vroman)." "Many thanks to my husband and kids for allowing me to do this every Friday night. To all the other drivers who have assisted in the pits. My family and friends who help me fix the damages. My neighbors, the Hastings for the use of their garage. And to all of the fans for coming out each week to support all of us drivers." |
