Interview with Walt Obrinske, Jr. by Michelle Sprague
Championship article for Springport 2006

"The Terminator"

Walt Obrinske, Jr claims to be from "Ducktucky" which is somewhere around Duck Lake, Springport, Albion, or somewhere out in the boonies. Nobody really knows for sure or has been able to figure it out.

Anyway, Walt's father Walt Obrinske, Sr knows for sure that Walt was born on June 10th, 1980. Where? Well, he didn't say.

Walt now shares his life with his beautiful fiance Melinda, his son Walt III, also known as "Tray", and his son James. Walt's car number, T3, is derived from his son Tray and the "III" at the end of his name.

Somehow, he's been able to talk his boss into letting him have time off to go race his #T3 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Street Stock at Springport Motor Speedway, something he thoroughly enjoys doing.

Looks like the "T3" flags get priority here!

"I love my family and I love to race, and I would like to thank all of the people who support me, including my family and my friends who help me out week after week during all the ups and downs. And I want to thank my sponsors, F&M Drywall, Walt Obrinske Excavating, R&M Building Systems, Dande Signs + Designs, England Construction, Wildfire Express, Coachlight Inn, Shooters, and Ducks Point."

"Thanks everyone."
