Just wanted to say our thoughts and prayers go out to Gary and his family.

I heard that Gary suffered a heart attack yesterday and is in Ingham Regional Medical Center.

Spoke with Gary yesterday afternoon, he is going to be released either as of last night, or this morning. Apparently, the heart attack occurred last Wednesday.

He has about 25% capacity left in heart function, and will be released with a shock vest for a thirty day evaluation period, during which he will be monitored for heart activity, and after which the decision will be made as to whether or not he will need a defibrillator permanently installed for his safety.

Gary told me he flatlined at least twice, according to what he was told, and that he needs to make significant changes to his "activities", as he says.

Gary also had a significant heart attack a number of years ago, according to his tally, this would have been number 4.

Sometimes, it makes one think, I am now sixteen years from that experience and have been doing well, and hope that Gary now makes it another great number of years before he has this problem again.

This is good news for Gary, in that he will be going home, and while he may have to slow down a bit, I doubt we have seen the last of him around the tracks in the area, and with Vintage racing also.

A good guy, and good news.

Take care Gary,

have a good day,

schinde
