'88 won't interchange with '86-'87 computers. They are totally different. '86-'87 uses two computers, one under the hood and one behind the right hand kick panel. '88 has just one computer, under the hood.

'88 and '89 can be swapped between each other. The main difference is the '88 uses an intake air temperature sensor and the '89 does not.
