The Sam Faur Memorial Race last year was a huge success, due primarily to the efforts of the Bellott family. We thank them for all they did for that event last year, and for the memory of Sam Faur.

The 2008 event was to be the only memorial race in honor of Sam Faur, but due to popular demand and many requests, Auto City Speedwy will host the encore event and what will likely be the final event to honor Sam Faur. Sam was the founder of Windpushers and a builder of many of the Modifieds racing around the midwest.

The Sam Faur Memorial Race will be held on July 11th, 2009. This is a Modified Invitational. Modifieds from all over the State of Michigan are invited to come and race in this event. If your car is legal at Auto City, Dixie, Spartan, Owosso, Kalamazoo, or the USA Modified Series, you will be legal for this event. If you race at any other track, call 810-280-8561 to check first. All cars must follow Auto City weight, tire, width, and ground clearance rules. The weight is 2400 total with a minimum of 1000 pounds on the right, the tire is the Hoosier 970, the ground clearance is 4 inches, and the width is 78 inches maximum measured from outside of tread to outside of tread. No mirrors and no radios.

The race is 70 laps on the 7/16 mile track ( also known as the 1/2 mile ).
