minors in pits

what is the tracks position on this act that says minimum age 18 into pits.
we cant let this fly.there are many minors that race who would be affected by this deal from supreme court. oldgold

I agree!! I think we should get all tracks together and form a petition against this new rule!!

At this point, and as far as I can tell after talking to our Insurance Company K&K Insurance, Spartan will not have a problem with minors entering the pit area.

For those that have had the experience of processing the "minor release forms" at Spartan you can now see why we have had to be so diligent the last few years. This is not a new issue, it is just merely becoming public.

If I had a dollar for everytime someone screamed "you are the only track that makes us fill out this (fill in the blank) paper work, or criticized our staff at the pit window for the process of completing the minor release forms, I wouldn't be working right now.

Here is a fact that may be just a little hard to swallow. 80% of claims in race track pit areas are caused by careless usage of quads, golf carts and alike. Most of those claims are minors that are joy riding (using the vehicle for other than it's intended purpose), riders that are not on a seat and another contributing factor is alcohol, the kind you drink. Go Figure.

Spartan has a very restrictive policy regarding usage of quads and golf carts, which is: No golf carts are allowed and quads may be used only to help get the Spartan Wingless Sprints to the push off area. Only one licensed person may be on the Quad. No careless driving. We actually do not have many issues. The people that use quads on Sprint nights respect the policy and all is well.
