APB for a NASCAR official with a yellow flag in his pocket.

The throw the farking red flag to set up their "green, white, checker" then sit on their hands when it happens again.

Total crap.

I agree 100%!!! Makes me wonder if NASCAR is choriographing the races just to keep it exciting. You know... kinda like professional wrestling? I am very disappointed in the decision the flagman made. The yellow should have been out long before the leaders crossed the line.

Perhaps if Clint Boyer gets burnt inside his car after he got run over when the yellow didn't come out it would have made NASCAR think twice..

And to add insult to injury, Harvick of all people wins. Please excuse me while I go somewhere and puke.

I was definately pulling for Mark Martin there. He deserved that win the most. You gotta hand it to him though, he did a really good job keeping those ex-teamates from passing him.

It's racing. It would have been cool if Mark had of one in a Chevy. Jack's sour look at the end would have gotten down right ugly. The Busch brothers were crashing out the front runners. If you want to complain about Harvick winning blame them.

he just had to steal martin day in the sun. i would have never try to pass him just out respect. and what was up with the flag guy didn't no you had to wait for all hell to break lose to throw a caution . the yellow flag should have thrown the second the 5 hit the 17 there was plenty of time. harvick no winner in my book.

Are you kidding me Amber If you're not going to go for the win, especially when the other driver bobbles, then you aren't racing! I bet if it was Kasey Kahne you may feel different Cool Besides who wants to see The Daytona 500 won under caution? Not me! Give it to Happy he had an awesome weekend. He started 34th, his crew worked to keep from losing spots on pit road, and kept his tires from the last pit stop until the very end when it mattered!

And he's The Daytona 500 Champion

I have to agree with the lovely Mrs. T2. Although I would like to have seen ol Mark finally grab one, I was very impressed with the way the whole Harvick team performed all through the race. And the tire thing was the ace in the hole. When we go to the big tracks such as Daytona or Talladaga, you can bet that 9 times outa 10 it will come down to a 2-5 lap drag race to the checkered flag, and fresh tires are the deciding factor of who gets there first. Also, i believe a little of the 2001 Kevin Harvick was showing his nasty self behind the wheel of that car. The boy can drive and I think the RCR team has a good program this year. If they keep the momentum going, there may be another Nextel Cup in thier future!

Im not a fan of either driver, but i tell ya what, If nascar would have been consistent to what they ALWAYS do, Martin would have won the race. I have a feeling Nascar is trying to breathe some excitement into the sport and its gonna blow up in their face...i have a feeling theres gonna be alot of this type of thing this season.

If i was in charge of "breathing life" back into NASCAR, I wouldnt do it their way either. I would add some new events like: Add some 1/2 mile dirttracks, add a vintage event ( the drivers would be required to strap into some racecars from the past.) Have 40's and 50's cars one weekend, and 60's cars one weekend the following month. One vintage event per month. Then maybe duplicate the old beach course at Daytona and run it at the end of the year. this way you got the 500 at the beginning of the season, and the Historical Daytona race at the end of the season. Ya I know... Im retarded, but this way, the history of the sport we all love will never die or lose its drug-like effect it has on us all. Some day i would like to be mentioned in racing history, and i would hope people in the future will remember the past as well. So kids, remember the name "NASTYBOI" Tim Sorrow!

Steve.. I'm with you. NASCAR applied their rules one way with 6 laps to go and then applied their rules a different way on the final lap. I wonder what NASCAR would have been saying today if Clint Boyer had died in that car when he got run over as everyone was racing to the strip ?

They have mandated 100's of new safety rules over the last 5 years to protect drivers, then turn around and let loose the hounds on the single most dangerous thing that can happen on the race track.. it wasn't like it was the 42nd and 43rd place car that wrecked on the final lap.. it was the 3rd and 4th place car wrecking in front of the whole field. It was amazingly dangerous and even negligent.

I wouldn't have cared if Martin or Harvick had won (though I thought Martin was in front) they shouldn't have sacrificed those people.

It does not really matter to me who won that race, as the guy I had in the pool was already out.

But had they have thrown the caution when Bush and Kensith got side ways and all there was in front of the drivers was smoke, I think that may have caused a lot larger wreck.

There are times when you are better off staying in the gas, than jumping on the brakes.

If the caution came out when the 5 & 17 went sideways, Harvick was in front and would have won anyhow.
