It appears that the Michigan Short Track Racing Club web site and forum has been down for the past couple of days. This is due to their DNS servers not responding which means our web browsers can't look up the IP address needed to find the site.

I wonder if they are in the middle of starting up the new forum or if this is a real problem that they haven't been able to fix with the DNS servers.

Anybody else notice this?

I spent some time with Dale on Saturday at the Bowling Tourney and he said they were almost ready to roll out a new website.

I wasn't particularly impressed with what they were going to try... another plain jane IPB site, but I'll withhold final judgement till they are done.

I'd guess they are trying to roll it out..

MSTRC sight is back up an running with the new format from Lindy Throgmartin.

It is different from what we are used to and will take a bit of getting used to (at least for me). If you are already a member you won't have to re-register.

I've tried both the .com and .org address and its down.

I also had a problem getting onto the site. I figured out that you can't use your old bookmark to get to the actual forum.

Start out at www.mstrc.com/ and it will get you there.

Weird.. still not working for me.

I did a whois lookup and see they updated their nameservers yesterday, perhaps it hasn't populated through all the isp's yet.

If you have it set in your favorites it will not come up you have to type in www.mstrc.com that is how I finally got it to work.

You're trying to access from Ford Motor Company right now. I just checked Ford's DNS servers. One of them at DNS003.FORD.COM isn't responding at all. The other one at DNS004.FORD.COM is returning the correct IP address for mstrc.com which is at 208.67.212.54.

Of course, maybe it's not returning the correct IP address to your internal network. Maybe an old IP address is cached.

I got it now.. that's why I said disappointing.

You would have throught after a full site redesign you'd have gotten something way better then a generic template driving php forum.

They also didn't get the entire database. Although, maybe they plan on still getting all the messages into the new board. Anything posted after Feb 5th is not there. It's also missing all the track related messages.
