Bruce Jones in surgery

I got a quick update today from Bruce's father. He indicated that Bruce is doing better. There were 16 tubes in Bruce post surgery...and he is now down to only 7! He is unable to talk at this time and communicates with body movements as well as pen/paper. He is now breathing on his own, however, he still has a trach tube. Of course he still has a feeding tube. I'm not sure when the lack of teeth in his lower jawbone will be addressed. Originally Bruce thought he would be in the hospital about 12 days...but as he has already been in for 7 days, it seems unlikely he is leaving there in the next 5 days...so his stay almost certainly will be longer. I still don't believe that Bruce is able yet to receive anything @ the hospital as he is still in ICU and recovery. I hope to be able to visit Bruce on Saturday if he is able to have visitors and if so, I should have more information to post here.

It is hard to believe, but Bruce was released from the hospital on Sunday and he is now home. The best way to contact him is via mail, and again his address is:

I communicated with Bruce yesterday. He has been unable to access this forum (Maurice, perhaps you could work with Bruce to get this straightened out) but asked me to let everyone know that he is slowly making progress. Furthermore he wanted thank everyone that has been pulling for him during this ordeal. Earlier in this thread I had provided Bruce's mailing address, but now that Bruce once again has access to a computer you could also e-mail him. His e-mail address is jonesracing37@aol.com.

Maurice, Bruce mentioned that if he is unable to race this season (and I'd guess that the chance of him driving a race car this season is highly doubtful) that perhaps he would be willing and able to assist you on Saturday nights @ Springport!
