We have dates for the 2007 car show at the Jackson Crossing Mall. Space is limited for the larger cars this year, so if you want to participate you need to fill out the registration form and send it in asap. Ponys and modifieds can go into the Target wing, so space there isn't as much of a problem. Please don't show up on the 5th. without sending a registration in and receiving a conformation. Thanks.

| The car show is four weeks away and we only have about eight registrations that have been submitted. The interesting thing is not one is a Spartan or Springport car. Each year Bill manages the car show in Jackson and it takes a lot of time. So if you are interested let him know soon, because we can't have a car show with out Spartan cars. Car shows and parades are excellent ways to demonstrate to your sponsors that you appreciate their support and are willing to put forth the effort to give them some exposure. By doing something to help your sponsors, or if you want to develop a resume to present to a potential sponsor you can start by creating value for them. You then can look at your sponsor and show them what they are paying for or you can just ask them for some money and hope they really like your smile. |

Everybody: The Jackson show is probably the best show to promote yourself as well as your class at both tracks. The Jackson crowd merely has a short drive north to get to Spartan Speedway on Friday nights and a short drive to the west and slightly north to get to Springport Motor Speedway on Saturday nights.
Let's get as many cars to this show as we can. If the motor isn't ready, don't worry about it, just leave the hood closed. You have to push the car in and out of the building, anyway. You Sportsman guys can just let the front screw jacks down to make the car sit level. Pure Stocks and Pony Stocks can remove the front springs and install a block in their place. The FWD cars can put a pipe on the strut in place of the spring. If your car is front wheel drive and you have the axles out, be sure to install something through the wheel bearings to keep them from separating. If you need help, send me an email and I'll explain how to do it. If anyone needs help removing and reinstalling your springs on the struts, bring your struts to my shop and I'll do it for you.
Show your cars off and get the crowd coming this season.

Acually, I had only planned on bringing my cars to the Meridian Mall show and I was waiting for a date and time on that one. Also, both of my cars still need to be painted and i still havent figured out how to do that yet. The one sponser I thought I had was completely full of @#$&! So now everythingt right down to the new sumitomos is coming out of my own pocket. I was sure I wouldnt be ready for the Jackson show, But I thought maybe I would make the later Meridian show. Gettin very frustrated and very broke. TIM _________________ nastyboi |

| Like Tim I still need to paint my new car and we are just starting to finish up the other. I have not registered because I do not know if either will be finished by then. I did not want to register and then not be able to show and have someone not be able to be there. I am hurrying as fast as I can. |

| Tim.. I'm basically going to be at Jackson by myself, if you want to come both days and hang out and meet and greet and just talk racing with folks at my cars, that'd be cool with me. |

Jim and Bill,
How do you expect us to register our Mods when we don't even have any rules for them. Mine is just about ready to go but have no idea what tires or anything to put on the car. Let us know something about rules or are we going to be run what we brung this year. I am just waiting for a clarification on the rules before I make up my mind if I am even going to run Spartan or go some place else. We need some rules.

Not only do we not have any rules for the mods this year. But the car show is on Easter Weekend. Some families travel on Easter and some people have to work on the time the cars are to be placed in the mall.

The show has nothing to do with registering your car with the track(s). The registration being referred to is the registration for the car show, not the tracks.
Bill needs the "show registrations" so he knows who is coming and can plan on how to place them in the mall.
If a Modified is ready to run don't worry about rules, just register for the show and bring it.

I was kind of waiting for the Meridian Mall show. My car is still not painted yet and may be a couple more weeks before it is, Im having surgery next week, so im trying to get as much done now as i can. Besides, Jackson for me is a ways away. Meridian Mall is my side of town as Im from Bath originally. _________________ ~~~~Steve "Big Daddy" Orta~~~~

Sorry about the Easter weekend but I am at the mercy of the availability of the Mall. As far as bringing the cars in on Thursday night, we have been doing that since the first show we ever had.
As of yesterday's mail, I had 2 entries and both were SUPERPRO cars. I don't charge the racers to enter this show and donate my time for this show. I do it basically to help promote racing in our area. We have been doing this show since 1992 but maybe some are losing interest. |
