Maurice,
Two comments..
1.) Can you increase the file size allowed for avatars.. 8kb is too small. Something like 50kb to 100kb is more realistic.
2.) If you try to upload an image using the upload from URL option in the profile control panel, there is a php de-bug error occuring.

If I increase the size to 100K and there's 10 of those on a single page, you know how happy the dialup users will be?
There's no reason why an avatar the size of what will fit on the left side of a message has to be that large of a filesize unless you're wanting to show a multi-image gif video or something.
Personally, I prefer fast loading pages without the glitzy stuff.

| I made a very simple logo for ONeilsAuto.com and even when reduced to 100x75, its bigger then 8kb. Just my opinion. |

Patrick,
Email Dennis' avatar to me so I can see it. If I have to make a minor adjustment to the configuration here I will, but I don't want to make it 50K - 100K, that's way too big.
