Jake,
You are in our thoughts. Very sorry for you and your family.
Keep your head up brutha... and drive the wheels off that car this year, just like yer grandpa would want you to do. If there is anything you need, just ask.

| Last year was Spartan Speedway's 50th birthday and you may not have known this, but Art was one of the racers on that very first night (then known as Lansing Speedway) of racing back in 1956!! If Spartan Speedway had a Hall-of-Fame, Art would unquestionably be in it. Now that is a great idea...a Spartan Speedway Hall-of-Fame!! |

To put this more into perspective, Art was already a 21 year veteran at the speedway when Paul Zimmerman bought the track in 1977.

The entire Newman family: Please accept our deepest condolences. Art and Fern have always been at Spartan on Fridays and for many years Crystal on Saturdays when I was racing there. I have considered them dear friends for well over 20 years. Be strong, but please tell us if there is any thing we can do to help you through this sad time. Godspeed Art, We will truly miss you.
Sincerely,
Dennis and Sherry O'Neil and family |
