Okay this is for all you NASCAR History buffs!!! The manager at Curves and I were wondering a few things after Jeff Gordan's win Saturday night.

We heard the announcers say that Jeff Gordan has not won at three tracks, one of them being Phoenix. Now that he has won there (Phoenix), what are the two remaining tracks he has not won at?

I must say that I was impressed with Jeff Gordan flying the Black #3 Flag around on his victory lap. I know there are people out there that don't agree, but it gave me goose bumps! I haven't been around racing that long, but long enough to know that winning as many races as The Man Dale Earnhardt, is something to be proud of, respectively. That's history!!!

Our next wonderings.....How many years did Richard Petty race in NASCAR Winston Cup? Are the wins they are talking about only for Cup races?

We would love help answering these!

Jeff has won at Homestead in a Busch car but not a Cup car. So Texas is really the only track Jeff doesn't have a "NASCAR" win at.
As far as Petty's wins.. es they are all NASCAR wins, through it's many different names...Grand Nat'l Division, Cup or what ever. Not to take anything away from the King, 140 wins were when they'd race three or four times a week at many different types of tracks.(Dirt, Concrete, Asphalt...etc...) The "modern era" stats have Darrill Waltrip leading with 84 wins and Jeff and Big "E" tied for second at 76 wins. The "modern era" started in approximately 1971, when Nascar went to a 30ish races per season schedule.

I've been bored sitting around in a hospital bed.. so I can scan the stats for fun.

Hope to see you at the track at some point this year.

~Chris~

Hey Chris...we miss ya already!!! You know Doc loves racing with you...it just won't feel right without you on the track Sad We really look forward to seeing you out there sooner than later, but when you feel it is best.

Okay, so I tried to put a poll on here when I started it but for some reason it didn't work properly...the poll question was:

Do you think the any racer can beat Richard Petty's record!?!
