During the evening, several people noticed that Stan didn't seem quite right. He had also been complaining of having pains that day and for the previous few days. I had also noticed while we were conducting the drivers meeting in the pits that Stan didn't seem quite himself.

It doesn't appear to be the crash into the turn 2 wall that took Stan's life. There were no skid marks, and the crash itself wasn't very severe. Until we learn for sure, all indications are that Stan had a heart attack while going through turn 1 and wound up into the water barrels in turn two.

You will be missed by many, Stan.

I got to know Stan pretty well over the years as we pitted next to him and Bud at Spartan. We talked about more then racing. There were A LOT of laughs. I wasn't going to go to Spartan on Friday because I was tired and had to work early on Saturday morning, but I wanted to see Stan and the whole gang. I'm very glad I did. He was in the drivers meeting when I arrived but when he got back to his pit he had a big smile and shook my hand and asked how everything was and what I was up to. The same with Bud. He treated me that way at every track I would see him at, which was many. I am proud that he considered me a friend.

My prayers go out to his family and friends.

I will miss my friend vey much.

just wanted to let everyone know in todays (sunday's) paper there is a little article in the local and state part about stan perry. i have it saved and its an interesting article. i have saved it. i just want to say again that our thoughts and prayers are iwth the family.

I talked to Konnie and Bud this morning. They were doing ok considering. Still in shock. If you go to http://www.krillfuneralservice.com Stan's obituary and arrangement information is on there. There is also a guest book to sign. God Speed Stan!! You Will be GREATLY MISSED.

i just put a saying in the guest book. i hope the family likes it. just keep your heads up and stay strong thats the way stan would have wanted it. if you need anything at all feel free to let me know.

This is just a 100% shock. So many of my memories of Spartan Speedway involve Stand, Bud and everyone else. I send my condolences to the family.
