I felt this deserved it's own thread.....................

On Tuesday, July 3, our defending multi-time Track Champion, Doug Finley, went over to Clio, MI and won the Firecraker 100 for Super Late Models!!!! Doug got around early leader, Rob E. Legree in the first few laps and never looked back. Doug was never threatened until just after the halfway point when a caution tightened up the field. Claude Plante Jr. #16 restarted right on Doug's bumper and stayed there until the finish. Doug could never pull away from him, and Claude made several efforts to take the spot away from him. But Doug even said that Claude drove him super clean and that it was very enjoyable running that good at Auto City, and that close with such a great driver.

This was Doug's 102nd feature victory of his career, but his very first at the Auto City Speedway!!!!

After watching the Clio Posse come over to Spartan all these years and take home some of Poor Paul's money, it was AWESOME to be there to watch one of our own grab the checkered flag at THEIR house. And just so you know, I went down on the front stretch afterwards and gave Doug a big hug, then walked right in front of the grandstands to the pits yelling SPARTAN SPEEDWAY BABY!!!!!

And it felt GREAT!!! I even took one of Spartan's biggest fans, Gordon McClintock down there on the frontstretch with me!!!

Priceless!!!!
