If anyone has something they would like to discuss in private, this message board allows you to send private messages. It works very similar to sending email, except that the messaging is all handled right here.

Every registered user is automatically setup to use this service. At the top of any page, you'll notice the spot that says "You have no new messages". You can click on this to go to your mailbox area where you can send a private message to another registered user.

If someone has sent you a private message, then instead of saying "You have no new messages", it will say "You have 1 new message". Click on it to go read your new message.

Keep an eye on your INBOX and SENTBOX. If they get full, then you must delete messages in order to continue using the service.

Here's another tip for those who aren't aware of the concept of the OUTBOX and SENTBOX.

When you compose a private message and send it, it will appear in your OUTBOX. It will also show up in the recipient's INBOX. Once the recipient has opened the new message, it will transfer from your OUTBOX to your SENTBOX.

This gives you an indication whether or not the recipient has read your message yet.

Once the message appears in your SENTBOX, you may delete it if you wish.

NOTE: If you delete the message from the OUTBOX prior to it being read by the recipient, it will also be deleted from the recipient's INBOX. This gives you the opportunity to cancel an outgoing message even after you have sent it provided the recipient hasn't yet opened it. Deleting the message from your SENTBOX will not delete it from the recipient's INBOX.
