On the neon's we must run 185's or smaller on the front and 195's are allowed on the rear.
I am fine with this but I was just wanting to know if running the 195's on the rear would make much differance compaired to running 185's on all 4 corners.
Running the same size on all 4 corners would sure be easier. Does anyone have access to a chart that shows how much less surface contact area there is between the 2??
Any thoughts on the differance in speed or time between the two combinations??

Dad
I wish I had been home when you wondered. I found a WONDERFUL program on Neons.org that tells me EXACTLY what you want to know. I will post the link on the bottom so people can download the program and do exactly what I did to find out almost any tire size change.
I will post it here so everyone can see it who's thinking of a Neon and their tires. That should help others instead of just telling you when you wake up
First off, these numbers are THEORY the tire shape will change due to airpressure and rim size. This is simply going off the numbers it is given and doing the math.
If you are going from a 195/70R14 to a 185/70R14 these are your changes.
(Number 1 is the 195 number 2 is the 185 for simplicity purposes)
#1 Tread width is 6.73 inches
#2 Tread width is 6.32 inches
#1 Diameter is 24.75 inches
#2 Diameter is 24.20 inches
#1 Crossection is 7.91 inches
#2 Crossection is 7.44 inches
The changes are doable from there.
MY OPINION I HAVE NOT RACED A NEON....... yet.
I think if you were to put all 4 tires to a 185 you would loosen the car up. The rear would want to rotate around alot more. The 195 would be a tighter race car but it might start to push. Honestly I think it could be come a drive choice as they are "close enough" We might have to get some of each and try em out to see which you like the most.
Here is the link for those who choose to download it. I am not responsible for anything else to do with this link. However I downloaded it and it works amazing and I didn't see any spyware or anything.
