I would like to know the track records for all classes. I think there should be a history/track facts section on the website.

These have all come from the results page on Spartans site (the results are not complete, no results for 2003 - 2005, and only go back to 1997) -

SLM - Phil Massuch 12.51 on 5/12/00
Mod - Earl Miles 13.24 on 7/3/98
Pony - Michael Dailey 16.118 on 4/28/06
Sportsman - open to debate because Spartan used to have a sportsman class that was faster then the current class.
Corey Miechiels 13.88 on 7/31/98 old sportsman
Dane Long 14.091 on 6/24/07 rules only run 2 years
Dane Long 14.202 4/25/08 current rules
Street Stock - Rob Buckley 14.25 on 6/8/01 under the old rules

Some of these may be wrong but it is a start.

A History page would certainly be popular. I think we would need to gather information and the source during the season and after there is enough to post go ahead and do so. Big Ed could ask the crowd for their input as well. What other sources are available?

Here's what I have as a reference..... Ed might know if any of these have been broken. Sometimes he announces important information when I'm trying to mentally block him out. Laughing

MMA May 1999 Tracy Rice, Nile Weiler 13.12

SS 6/8/01 Rob Buckley 14.25

PS 8/22/2003 Chris VanGordan 16.543

Dwarf 8/99 Andy Taylor 13.09

Sprints 8/99 Tom Fedewa 11.07

I think the WOMS midget track record is around 11.0 with the wing by Chris Hettinger.

There were no qualifying results for 1999.

Comparing these track records to other tracks is kind of funny because the sprints record at K-Zoo is 10.835 and I think it is around 10.5 at M-40. The SLM record at K-Zoo is 12.037, I believe this was with new pavement and during the soaking is legal era. Both M-40 and K-Zoo are 3/8 mile tracks. Shows how fast both places are.

With that said I can't wait to see the sprints back at Spartan. I really wish they were running at Springport, I believe the sprints are the one show that fills the stands no matter what track they go to. A show like the sprints would get some new people out to Springport and just maybe some would come back for a regular show.
