Amherst, Ohio, Monday.....Memorial Day. Pits open at noon and racing at 4PM.
Their rules are identical to Spartans, Hoosier 970 tire, spoiler, quickchange.
3/8 mile track, looks like a pretty good purse....400 to win.....if they have over 19 cars they will pay 500 to win.
It's on I-80 east toward Cleveland.
Unless someone else knows of something closer?...... |

Hey MASHER
Is that Lorain County Speedway your talking about?? Amherst just doesn't seem to ring a bell for me as far as a race track being located there. But I am getting old and the memory isn't what it used to be.
Curious more than anything, I've been to Lorain County, and am doubting the 3/8ths measurement is all.
Thanks for any additional information. |

| Yes it is Lorain, I'm not real up on the names of the tracks. I use the old Rand Mcnally book to find them....lol. I talked to the tech guy there and he had said the car is pretty close (mod). I think they are also having a problem filling a full field of cars. |

The track was actually closed most of last year and the year before. They are struggling, like most tracks.
I was there once for a Main Event Race. The track is FLAT, FLAT, FLAT. One groove for the most part, especially if the cars are evenly matched. I think it's closer to a 1/4 mile, than a 3/8ths. It's been there a while, and it shows.
If you go, let us know what you seen, and how you did.
