Does anyone have info on the service/obituary for Brian Heeney? We are from Indiana and can't find it online. I don't want to bother the family at this time, so if anyone could post it that would be greatly appreciated.

The obituary along with funeral arrangements are now posted on the main page of the Spartan Speedway and Springport Motor Speedway websites.

Here's the funeral info from the obituary:

Funeral Services for Brian will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Sts. Cornelius and Cyprian Catholic Church in Bunker Hill, with Fr. Michael Petroski and Fr. Eugene Beiter con-celebrating. The family will receive friends at the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and Monday from 2-4 p.m., then at the church on Monday from 6-8 p.m. with Vigil services at 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Spartan Speedway in memory of Brian W. Heeney.

Do any drivers plan on attending the funeral Tuesday morning wearing their "Drivers Suits"?

I'm just curious if this is some sort of tradition in the racing community....?

I have only been to the funeral of one other racer, Chargin' Charlie Ryan, respectfully. It was wonderful to see the hundreds of drivers in their "Driver's Suits" honoring one of their own.
