This is something I meant to do earlier but I just wasn't sure how she would take it. But now I just don't care.
I would like to thank my wife publicly for a gift that I thought could never be replaced. As most of you know we lost our race shop last February. In it we/I lost all but one bare chassis. Eventually we were able to save parts of engines and tool here and there but it was the memories that were lost. One of my traditions was every year that I re-skinned the car I would save my drivers door and hang it up. As you can imagine it was quite the walk through time looking at doors from 10 years ago. Their was a poster with my first ever door number (made of silver duct tape with a blue painters tape shadow) hanging in the garage. But it had only been maybe a month that I had gone through the shelves and arranged it all so that all of my trophies could be on display. More for me than anything, but that's a lot of memories and time spent. Losing everything I had racing related in the fire was devastating as you can imagine. But with the help of family, this wonderful racing community we bounced back and even competed this last season. There are so many people I can thank. As a Christmas gift my Lovely wife Shawn through calls to Jim, and a few trophy places she was actually able to reproduce about half of my racing trophies. I must say it was probably the most emotional gift I have ever received from anyone for anything. Amazingly she was able to perfectly reproduce my rookie of the year trophy. Which really unknowing to me was the most important. It's amazing to me how much spirit and heart goes into this sport, and what a little trophy can mean ten years down the road. So with that all said I want to say Thank you Shawn for pushing me to always do my best even when it seems as the world has stacked the deck against me.
Thank You
Perry |

Yes Perry,
Very cool of Shawn, and wonderful. You are a lucky man, sir, and clearly proud of your wife, as well you should be.
See you at the track, and be a little extra sweeter to her just prior to opening night,
have a good day,
