What do the drivers think about radio receivers? I think that they are about 100.00. Obviously everyone would need to have one. The expense could be partially off set with the fuel you would save by not making the unnecessary laps while we are trying to get the field lined back up. There are also invitationals that about a third of the field wouldn't have communications.

i think it would be a good idea if it improves safety.if the driver buys it is it his or hers, or can you rent them?

Jim I am 100% for them.

I was one of the few trying to get them in for the beginning of the season. The show improves tenfold when the drivers have them. The roughly 10 minutes it to get one driver to allow another their spot, in the super late race, was simply horrible to watch.

I will help argue for the raciever any time you need!!

100% for!

If enough people are for it maybe we could get a discount for the speedway.

how bout we just use 2 way radios? jk. i will say, the radios are handy. the recievers seem like a pretty good idea though. i think another way to improve safety is to incorperate rss's into all the cars in the fastest 3 classes within the next 5 years or so. that way with as fast as our cars are getting, if there is a caution, the drivers will have a big bright yellow light that lights up on their dash boards.

I watched them work to perfection at Crystal Speedway a week ago.

116 cars in the pits, you HAVE to be able to move the show along, and they did. It was awesome to watch the field align before your eyes, in ONE lap, and no one arguing over position. If you did, your argument was then heard in the pit area, while your race was finishing.

They work.

maybe the track could get a bulk discount and then sell them to the racers at the discounted rate and have some to rent out to vistitors.

I've no issue with the raceivers, think it would help out quite a bit with line up after a caution.

Especially if Spartan adopts Crystal's rules, either line up where you are told immediately, or you are flagged to the pits.

I'm on board with it.

have a good day,

I like this idea of the raceiver. Mr. Flinn has had great success in using them at Crystal. I know it's another racing expense but if it saves you a couple tires or a wheel (depending on class) a season, I think it is worth it.

Thanks
JT

First and foremost, do it for the on track safety factor. then look at the added benifit of speeding up the show for the fans! Its good idea for everyone involved.
Add the rule, set a drop dead date, and do it.
As far as travellers go, the track could have a couple extra for a small rental fee.

So its not $100.. but $184 ?

That's nearly twice as much.. so I'd have to really re-think that.

So make it so the Late Models and the Mods have to run them and give the other classes more time to come up with one. Still use them in that division but not require them at that time. But with the Lates and the Mods it's almost a no brainer. But it would help in all divisions. $200 bucks isn't really that much in the grand scheme of things. Just my thoughts. The tracks that have made it necessary are working.

The RACEceiver itself is $99.95
The RACEceiver does use the industry standard 3.5 mm jack. Ear Buds for $14.95 are available.
