Mothers Day and racing,
Yes, I think we all owe the ladies in our lives, be it a mother, a wife, a great, great amount of gratitude, for if it wasn't for them, none of us would have a family life in addition to this sport we all love.
For they put up with the sacrifices of not having us in the house in the evening, because we have to work on the car. They put up with our temper tamtrums when things aren't going right, with the car, the racing, or our lives in general.
They put up with us not being around in the winter, because we are out in the shop working on the car, from early morning until night.
They put up with us wanting to talk racing with our fellow drivers, and just flat out wanting to be around our fellow racers in the good times and the bad.
They put up with us by trying to spend some time in the shop, and trying to help us as best they can, put up with our dirty shop clothes, and our grimy hands then trying to be tender with them when we finally do come inside.
Oh, yes, we owe them, for their support at the track, the things that they do for us to help us at the track, in the pits, and at home.
For their big grins when we do well, and their shoulder of support when we don't do so well. For putting up with us spending dollars we shouldn't on our cars and our sport, when they might want something else for the home, themself or the kids.
So, far all of the racing mothers and wives,
Thank you so very much,
Were it not for you, their would not be an "us".
have a good day,
