I wish to say that I feel quite honored to have been granted the privelege of receiving the Modified Sportsman Award for 2006, it is very special to me and is a high point for me in this past season.
Also, to have been chosen for Poor Paul's Golden Circle Award is rather humbling, I might say. I wish to state again here that I am very appreciative of this award, and also to repeat that I wish I had began racing in this community many years earlier. I have my wife to thank for this, for had she not told me to forget about racing motorcycles again and told me to do something safer for my old bones, I never would have met so many of the great people in the extended short track racing family.
I sat back and thought about this all for a while over the weekend and can clearly say this, there are a lot of people I have met through this sport that I otherwise never would have had the privelege to know, and my life is better for it. Much better and I sincerely thank everyone involved for providing me that chance to not only go racing, but to get to know so many of you.
have a good day,

Matt,
You were very deserving of both.
The best night of racing I had all year was your Rocking N Racing at out Springport.
I hope the powers that be, whomever they are.. make it so that RNRIII happens in July 07 !! |

I'd like to thank the Pony Stock drivers who were in attendance at the banquet... you guys (and gal) caught me by surprise!
And thanks for the card. You're all a pretty good bunch to work with.
On another note, Paul really missed being at the banquet. If anyone would like to send him a "get-well email", you can reach him at poorpaul@spartanspeedway.com
I'm sure he would like to hear from everyone.
