On Aug. 18, 2006 (prior to our trip to the Michigan International Speedway on 8/20/06 to see them in action) our local short track, Spartan Speedway in Holt Mich., had a visit from NASCAR drivers Tony Stewart, Clint Boyer, David Stremme and Tim Fedewa.

Tim Fedewa is from Holt and his family has been associated with the local track for as long as I can remember and I guess asked the guys to come and help promote short-track racing. What a night! The guys hung out in the pits and watched the races until intermission.

At intermission Tony Stewart drives out with Tim Fedewa in a corvette convertible. He races through Turns 3 and 4 and starts doing donuts on the front stretch until finally coming to a stop in front of us just past the start/finish line. It was great to see them both grinning like Cheshire cats and having such a good time. Clint and David followed shortly after and the foursome stood for quite a while answering questions. It was really neat to see them up close and personal (out of their race outfits) and so close to my home. I hope they come again
