I've been looking at some dirt track cars and notice a lot of them only have 3 bar cages on the drivers side. The rules for pure stock state 4 bar drivers side. Is this strictly enforced along with the 1/8" steel plate from end to end and top to bottom or is it a recommendation for safety. Alot of dirt tracks rule books only require 3 bar? Thanks to everyone for the help in advance!

when you get hit on a dirt track your car deflects easier and absorbs less of the impact. i dont know what spartans ruling is on this but i know the reasoning behind less bars _________________ Eric Gilbert

Tom,
Whether or not it is "enforced" should be irrelevant. This is a rule put in to ensure (as best as possible) your safety. When it comes to your safety always go with what the rule states and maybe a little more. Having taken a hard hit in a car myself, believe me.....you want as much protection as you can get. |
