The tires where in my opinion the worst thing for this class. from a fans stand point they suck! I was going to race the f-8 till we were told about the tires in the drivers meeting and decided it was not worth the added risk. They did what you wanted them to do and kept drivers from going in the grass, but it was BORING TO WATCH!!!!! I may one of the few that feel this way but i feel it is necessary to voice my opinion.

Scott - Agree completely. As a car owner, I saw several hundred dollars worth of damage done to my car when it was turned into a tire. What should have been a non-incident nearly totaled our car.

I normally think the Tires are good. Four of them anyway. The 4 main tires that were placed in the corners did not allow enough room for drivers. The tire was used as a pick in my case which ended up breaking my cradle, rack, and tie rod. All I ask is that they give us at least 3 feet in the corners instead off placing the tires right up to/on the pavement. That way if someone wants to try to hit you down into the tire you can at least have a chance of not hitting it when you are fighting back.

I have no problem with placing the tires or something else a little farther out, or even a different process. What we have to accomplish is people racing on the black top and not going cross country.

Keep thinking.

Get rid of the grass and put sand in the infield. Very Happy Then they would lose so much ground in the grass that they would stay out of it!

Seriously though, I was thinking about cones. If you place cones around the track then tell the drivers if you drive below the cones without being forced there you will be black flagged.

at first i thought the sand would be a good idea but i think it would allow a car to dig in and maybe turn over.

tires are good, 3 foot off the corner, at least 2.5 foot tall, they used some short tractor tires years ago and i clipped one coming off turn 2 of the 8 and just about wound up on my roof. came up on the drivers door and back down to the wheels. i peed a little Very Happy

I think the tires are a good thing put them a couple of feet off the track and maybe 15 feet toward the x that way the driver will have a choice either stay on the payment or hit the tire head on from running the grass I perfer the payment the tires dont move also while you are thinking of the 8 Jim can you do something with the hole coming out of 2 thats getting to be big hole and deep doesnt help the suspension when we hit it.
just my thoughts Ken
