| I was told by another racer that I need to have a dash in my Pure Stock. As of right now the cage is installed and the gauges and switches are attached to the dash bar. Is my setup ok? |

We've never been tough on dashboards. It's to your benefit from an interior appearance standpoint to fabricate a nice dash panel, but it's not required.
However, you must make sure that the steering wheel is mounted in a location that is similar to the original factory location, in relation to where the original dash would have been. You are not allowed to move the steering wheel considerably rearward along with the driver in order to gain additional rear end weight. This is more or less a judgement call on the official's part.
Just make sure that items such as the gauges can't be hit by your legs or knees during a crash. Be sure to pad the crossbar and lower part of the steering column or any other place where your legs might make contact.
