Give it some time. There are people who can help that might not check these messages every day.
Be patient, the season hasn't even started and the Powder Puff is run on the final night of the year, so you've got plenty of time to line up a Powder Puff ride.
You sent me an email earlier today and I replied with a name of someone who might be able to help you. Did you follow up on that?
I would recommend waiting until the season actually gets started and then go to the track and get to know everyone. You'll meet some nice people in person who will help you. Some people would like to know who they are dealing with before they stick their necks out.
Have fun this summer, it's going to be a very good racing season at both tracks.

racingaddict,
Come on into the chat room tonight. No charge for a pit pass there.

| why do you have such a hard time believing that no one will let you drive their car . theres a lot of money work and time that goes into building and maintaining a racecar even if it is a pony stock. most of the powder puff drivers are wives girlfriends or daughters of drivers. with no expierence no equiptment no money and not knowing anybody to use their car its not going to be easy. the best advise would go to the track every week and when the races are done you can go into the pits for free . thats a great oppurtunity to talk to drivers and maybe find someone who will take a chance on you smashing his or her car up. lets face it were not talking badmitten here. best of luck! |

I'll sound cold here..
But I don't understand how a person with no money, who can't even afford a Pit Pass can even consider racing. |

I can remember a time when I was young, had no money, and didnt really know anyone in racing...but, I did have a dream that one day I would be racing and that dream did come true.
Don't give up racingaddict, come into the pits after the races and introduce your self, talk with the drivers and let them get to know you. You never know, that one person just might give you the chance to drive.
Good luck

John,
John,
John,
Just messing with ya.. <wink>
I'm not saying to give up, but you have to bring something to the table.. if you have no money, you need to have some aptitude. Ability to work on the car, something you can offer the owner.
This whole thing reminds me of the movie "Wedding Singer" where Adam Sandler walks into the guys office and says I want a job doing what he does because I want a fancy car and a fancy house.. but I have no money, no education, no experience and I can't work long hours, but I'd like you to give me the job anyhow.
If you didn't see the movie.. he gets thrown out on his ear.. |
