This pertains to Spartan Speedway and Springport Motor Speedway:
Every year, some of those who are new aren't fully aware of the pit rules, and even some of the regulars simply forget what is required when they show up on opening night.
Please don't forget about the minor releases and the birth certificates.
For anyone under 18 in the pits, you MUST have a minor release form on file which is signed by both parents. If both parents appear the first time, they can sign the form in front of our track worker at the pit shack. If one or both of the parents are unable to attend the first time the minor appears, then the minor release form must be obtained in advance from the speedway and both parents must sign it and their signatures must be notarized. If one parent shows up with the minor, the other parent must still sign the form in advance with the signature being notarized.
If the minor is also a driver, a copy of the minor's birth certificate must also be submitted when signing in for the first time.
Once the required signed minor release forms are on file, the minor will be able to sign in each week after that without the parents being present.
This is important: Spartan and Springport are two separate operations with separate insurance policies. Each track must have separate release forms on file. Just because you've provided Spartan Speedway with the required forms doesn't mean that you are good to go at Springport. You must submit separate forms to Springport.
Remember, it's easiest if both parents can appear the first time the minor shows up. But if you are driving, don't forget to bring your birth certificate as well.
If you need a minor release form in advance, call the speedway offices:
For Spartan Speedway: 517-244-1042
For Springport Motor Speedway: 517-543-5202
Thanks...
