Is there any reason that the transponder data from the races can't be published weekly ?
All the lap times of all the cars through all the heats and races ?
I think it'd be real helpful. |

I've asked for this several times but was told no, I too would like to see the data, Sometimes people drive faster in traffic and it would be good info to help people improve, Maybe with maurice at the wheel we can get something posted. Mg _________________ Effort equals results...Penske

The reason all the lap times are not published is because you guys bitc....opps.....complain to much already.....how much abuse do you think we can take. Not going to happen as long as I'm posting the results and there is so much animosity towards the track officials and employees....Next you'd be wanting the scorer's fired. . _________________ Jim Barker - Timing, Scoring & Other Stuff |

| If a driver would like to know the lap times s/he were running can they go to the tower, after the races have completed for the evening, to get a copy of their lap times? |

Ok,ok....that may have been a little blunt...... I forsee alot of time and printing supplies used up on that scenario. What I could do is email a person their laptimes in html, text or csv format. This would be at my descretion sometime during the week, but would try and have all requests filled by Wednesday..... I have a full time job and a family that requires a little of my time. _________________ Jim Barker - Timing, Scoring & Other Stuff |

I guess I'm confused how the track score keeper or any official could take flack from publishing the lap times.
They are what they are... I'd like to see if I speed up or slow down at all during a race... I'd like to see if other cars are going faster or slowing down.
Mostly, I'd just like a tool to try and get better and lap times are a good tool... and I'd like them for everyone. |

Not everyone wants their lap times posted for everyone else to see. There are driver's that don't put their transponders on until they qualify for that very reason. _________________ Jim Barker - Timing, Scoring & Other Stuff |

Is there any reason for not allowing drivers to see their times? Also, in the past if a driver was black flagged for "speeding" they were able to get a print out of their laps times (after the races were over) from the race they were black flagged in. Are they still allowed to do this? _________________ Don't Sing It, Just Bring It!

Unofficial or Official.... laptimes are laptimes. Why would you think another driver would want you to know at what lap he starts to make a charge to the front..... not all drivers think they can win the race in the first lap.... some are patient and work their way through the field to position themselves for a strong finish. You take away that driver's mystique if you know when he's going to make his charge. Maybe that's your reason for wanting everyone's laptimes posted....dunno....but I'm not going to post them.
The above is just one scenario...I'm sure there are others.
Cindy..... If a driver is blackflagged for speeding he has always been able to receive his laptimes for the event the infraction occured. These were printed and givin to the race director at the end of the evening, if asked for.
Driver's, crewmembers or anyone representing a driver are not allowed in the tower at anytime unless they have permission from the current race director. _________________ Jim Barker - Timing, Scoring & Other Stuff |

This is my opinion:
I can not for the life of me understand why you think you/or the drivers need to have their lap times published or anyone elses????? These lap times are not going to tell you to slow down; turn left; watch out for the wall; oh my.... The reason behind what you are requested just doesn't make since to me. If you want all this find someone or your crew member to sit with a stop watch and do your laps for you (just a suggesting is all).
Also, Cindy like Jim said before when and if you are blackflagged we wait for the race director to come over the radio and say (for example). Ok, T2 would like to see his laps that he was speeding and what his time wise. We scorers have no problem what so ever to give that to the Race Director. That's always been that way. After the race we get it to the Director and you go see him about the print out. Jimmy always prints out the laps that you were speeding and writes down your break out time also.
Jimmie, thank you so much for putting in the posting that these people bit## too much. Because the next thing you will know we as scorers will be on the chopping block. |

Posting the times will help some and only hurt a "few". In my opionion maybe just post the ponys? seeing how that is the beginner class and it is something that people in that class can look at and determine what they can do to help better their car. Right now we have to big of gap in this class and if you posted the times then people can start looking at what their speed is vs the fast guys.
Just a suggestion is all. As long as you scorers dont start deciding to leave coolant/water on the track then I wont ask for you to be fired!!!
