Gang just so we are on the same page are intensions where to race friday night before we leave for the asa race in rockford ill to help the car count .But chad has become very sick and i dont know if we can.He has to go back to the hospital wends am and we will see what they say.I started all this about the low car count and want to see it thru but asa is our main obligation to our marketing partners and that needs to come first.Chad will be okay but something has his enrgy level way down and they can not figure it out.It started last thursday and when he got out of the car friday he was exhausted and has not recovered from it yet.Again if we can we will if we can not we will not but we sure hope to.I can tell ya this with all the other posts going on we may have a low car count but there is some awesome racing going on and the guys that are there are committed and it will carry on.Hope to see ya friday untill then see ya soon. _________________ Respectfully Jeff Finley

The August 10th Super event should feature some names we haven't heard at Spartan in a while but we won't know for sure until we see the whites of their eyes.
Our regular drivers are going out of their way to help promote the Super division by switching tires and possibly adding a little weight for the one night. This will give us a chance to see how some Supers with wet sumps and cast iron heads match up with some pretty strong cars, all being on a treaded tire, quarter mile and 100 lbs. difference in weight.
I would like every one of our regular drivers to know we appreciate their sacrafice as this is some what of a trial and it is creating extra work for them. The same goes for the KZOO guys and anyone else that is coming to Spartan.
Thanks to Jeff Finley and Harry Foote for their efforts. |

I don't know how many people can remember but there was a limited late that ran with the supers on a regular basis and had won. I guess the question is if k'zoo can do it there are some limited lates still out there that may be an avenue to persue to help car counts as well.
Everyone knows it may take a little bit of tweaking of some rules as far as weight and such, but the main objective is to get cars at the track and will in turn put butts in the stands so to speak.
If I could find a way I'd be racing again myself. I'd drive for free just to be out there again.
Jeff, Glad to here Chad is doing better and it's good to see him grow from the karts to the racer he is becoming.
And on another note, what about bringing the supers back to Springport. They always put on a good show there in the past.
I personally be glad to help out with whatever I can to help Spartan survive with what has been it's foundation through the years. I personally have been going there since 1976 or 77 since my dad raced there many years ago.
Respectfully,
Bill Graves |

Every time this has been tried since the reopening, it has left the promoter in a hole that was almost impossible to dig out of. In my humble opinion, that is what made the track have to close early last season. After that one week when Gary had them race, they never recovered financially, and we ended up closed after the first week in August. They had an opportunity to race there at Racin & Rockin, there were 9 of them.
Springport is doing just fine this season without having to have a high dollar pay out division. It is a very risky roll of the dice, and one that just isn't affordable at this time. If someone wants to put up the money for a purse, I'm sure Maurice would love to have them there, as I would to, just not at the expense of losing our track.
I love the Supers, but it is a very tricky situation these days. |

There could be lots of tracks that high payout classes could run. All it would take would be for each car to have an entry fee of about 5% of the proposed purse based on a minimum of 20 cars. $10000.00 purse = $500.00 entry fee. _________________ Thanks
