You don't "need" to change them. They are not "useless"

Edson Rowley runs stocks so far every race out there and is VERY competetive. If you have a stronger motor, a sorted out chassis, and a good driver you can be too. The 1.22's really help but I ran a 20.31 with stocks and a 2.86 ring gear and have ran a 20.24 with 1.22's and a 3.05 ring and pinion. There is alot mroe in my car right now but that just shows that even with the "right" gear it doens't mean it's going to be the ultimate.
